Coexistence and solidarity in the process of teaching in the first grade of primary school’

This assignment encompassed in the form of this research question stems from the quest and the interest about issues of development of political attitude and conduct in terms of education. Its aim is to be studied and detected the factors conducive to the cultivation of political awareness to the future citizens, as it is carried out in the educational system emphasizing on the first grade of school. More specifically, the goal is to to be studied the process of development of political behavior to students through their interactions with the teacher, via the research method of observation without participation during the courses of Social and Political Education, History and Literature in the fifth and sixth class of a Greek Primary School.

Summing up, this study/research aims at providing answers to the following research questions:

  • Through which procedures, practices, school and especially the first rank can, if it is proved , to the formation of political behaviour,
  • In which ways the definitions ‘coexistence’ and ‘solidarity’ can help in the creation of students’ political attitude,
  • What is the role of these notions in the development of ‘cosmopolitan’ citizens,
  • How are these notions connected with others such as ‘tolerance’, ‘acceptance’, ‘social cohesion’, ‘trust’, etc.

Does it really exist a degree of corroboration between the students’- teachers’ and their families’ social origin and their performance in the political issues.
