Concerns and controversies regarding the creation of wind farms in Agrafa: Qualitative research

Climate change is one of the most important problems on the planet today. Renewable energy is being promoted by many, states, associations of states and scientific communities, as the medicine for its treatment. Despite their general acceptance, however, strong reactions are often observed during their installation. One such case concerns the installation of the wind farms in the mountains of Agrafa.
The present research aims to study the views of those involved in the above project, whether their position is positive or negative, always in relation to the issue of climate change. The research was conducted with the methodological tool of the semi-structured interview. It was administered to 10 people during the period from April to May 2021.
During the analysis of the results, the objections of the residents of the area of Agrafa and bodies that stand by them regarding the specific project, as well as the arguments of those who support or contribute to its realization were revealed. For the former, this project will mean the complete destruction of the place, as it will have tragic effects on both the environment and their economy, while for the latter it is a very important investment, which will favor the region in the spirit of modern ecological legislation.
