This thesis deals with the formation of the identities of second generation immigrants from Albania of Greek origin, in Greece. This work first sheds light on the issue of shaping the identity of Greek minority in Albania, then goes through the socio-historical context of immigration in Greece and the path of the first and second generation to the new homeland. The shaping of the identities of the second generation of immigrants from Albania with Greek origins is located at this thesis, at a broader sociological framework of study of the construction of threatened identities, identities of legalization, identities of resistance, as well as hybrid identities. Social identity theory is also a form of analysis of identities formation in the present study. The eight semi-structured interviews with second-generation immigrants and the thematic analysis of their data highlight the issues of connection with “there”, the difficulty of accepting their identity, the evidence and defense of Greekness, the connection with the Albanian element of identity and its management, the experiences of racism, the issue of belonging to “here” and the path to social inclusion for the subjects of this research.
